Consideration of Adoption of Resolution No. 4695 Amending the <br /> 8 1995 General Fund Budget <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Don Brager, Finance Director, reported that Resolution No. <br /> 11 4695 amends the 1995 Budget by carrying forward from the 1994 <br /> 12 Budget certain items for small projects and capital outlay. <br /> 13 The total amount to be carried forward is $18,627 . Brager <br /> 14 explained the memorandums from various departments, which <br /> 15 described in detail the items they wished to carry forward. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Trude to Adopt Resolution No. 4695 <br /> 18 Amending the 1995 General Funds Budget <br /> 19 <br /> 20 VOTE : 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 21 <br /> 22 SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS : (Continued) <br /> 23 <br /> 24 d. Consideration of Adoption of Resolution No. 4692 Resolution <br /> 36 Outlining Collection Policy for Delinquent Utility Bills <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Don Brager, Finance Director, reported that at the Council ' s <br /> 39 request the City' s collection policy for delinquent utility <br /> 40 bills was reviewed. Formerly, tenants of multifamily units, <br /> 41 apartments, duplexes, and quad homes were taken to <br /> 42 Conciliation Court in an effort to collect delinquent utility <br /> 43 bills . This policy has proved to be ineffective and costly to <br /> 44 the City in terms of Attorneys ' fees . It is desired to return <br /> 45 to the collection policy which was in effect prior to that, <br /> 46 whereby service would be discontinued on delinquent accounts <br /> 47 after due notice. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Brager said he had been notified by the City Attorney <br /> 50 regarding this matter.
