RESOLUTION NO. 4718 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO EXPLORE A PARTNERSHIP WITH <br /> INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT 621 FOR EDUCATIONAL <br /> AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of Independent School District <br /> No. 621 have identified a need for classroom and recreational space <br /> at Pinewood and Sunnyside Schools; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board has approached the City Council of Mounds <br /> View with a request to consider a joint project to explore ways <br /> that the two local units of government can work cooperatively to <br /> provide classroom and recreational space for the elementary <br /> students of Mounds View; and <br /> WHEREAS, at the 1995 Strategic Planning Session, the City <br /> Council committed to broadening its relationship with the school <br /> district as one of its service delivery action steps; and <br /> WHEREAS, the opportunity to explore a cooperative partnership <br /> with the School District is consistent with the Council's goals; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mounds View City/School District partnership can <br /> best be accomplished by the creation of a Task Force with the <br /> following composition: <br /> 1 School Board Member <br /> 1 Elementary School Principal (Pinewood or Sunnyside) <br /> Director of Community Education <br /> 1 Member of the Early Family Education Center <br /> 1 Parent from either Pinewood or Sunnyside School <br /> 1 City Councilmember <br /> 1 EDA Commissioner <br /> 1 EDC Member <br /> City Administrator; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Task Force will be charged with: <br /> * Identifying the educational and recreational space <br /> needs at Sunnyside and Pinewood <br /> * Explore the feasibility of providing additional <br /> educational and recreational facilities at Edgewood <br /> Middle School <br /> * Identifying the size, scope and costs associated <br /> with additional space needs <br />
