As part of these <br /> preparations, an interview panel, consisting of Mary Saarion, Park, <br /> Recreation and Forestry Director, Kurt Johnson, Golf Course Superintendent <br /> and I interviewed six candidates to fill the position of Clubhouse <br /> Manager/Instructor/Driving Range Manager. This is a nine month position, <br /> from approximately March 1 to November 1 with an annual salary of $12, 000 <br /> plus teaching pay earned from a portion of the fees charged for lessons. <br /> The six candidates, who were interviewed on Wednesday, February 22 , were <br /> selected from a field of 15 who had responded to the job advertisement. <br /> The advertisement required the successful candidate to have at least 2 <br /> years of post-secondary education in the area of golf course management, <br /> business management, recreation or a related field and 3 years of golf <br /> course clubhouse operations and golf instruction experience. <br /> The interview panel recommends that Brus von Ende be hired to fill this <br /> position. Mr. von Ende has a bachelors degree in marketing and <br /> communications from St. Cloud State University and has worked for <br /> Centerbrook Golf Course for the City of Brooklyn Center as a Clubhouse <br /> Assistant/Teaching Pro for the past six years. He also has related <br /> experience with the New Hope Village Golf Course as a Teaching Pro and with <br /> the Woodbury Golf and Fitness Club. Mr. von Ende has demonstrated that he <br /> has met all of the requirements of the position and has an excellent work <br /> history which indicates he can perform the duties and responsibilities of <br /> the position. Reference checks have been completed and are satisfactory. <br /> It is recommended this hire be contingent upon successful completion of a <br /> physical examination and drug and alcohol test. <br /> 4i <br /> if ruikshank, Asst.
