Bids were solicited and three bids received. The three bids that were received are listed below: FIRM 16' MOWER 72" MOWER Midwest Specialty $47, 496.87 (demo) $13 , 046. 25 MTI (Toro) 58, 894 .50 11, 147. 36 Kujawa Enterprises Bid was incomplete, without a bond. 1 Staff recommends that the bid be awarded to Midwest Specialty. The Midwest Specialty demo mower has been used under supervision, is fine- tuned and in excellent condition. The 72" mower offered by Midwest Specialty is more expensive than the MTI but it has the features that are more advantageous (see the memo from Steve) . Both recommended purchases from Midwest Specialty are within the 1995 budget allocation of $64, 000 for parks mowers. Staff further requests Council's approval to purchase a new deck for the old 16' mower. Although this mower is old and tired, it will be very useful as a backup mower during times when the new mowers are being serviced or are down due to flat tires, etc. The cost of a new deck is $2800. This additional purchase would still be within the budgeted amount for new mowers. Mary Saar on, 'rector of Parks, Recreation and Forestry RECOMMENDATION To approve the purchase of the 16' mower at a bid cost of$47,496.87 and 72" mower at the bid cost of$13,046.25 from Midwest Specialties as well as approving the purchase of a new deck for the old 16' mower at a cost of $2,800, an expenditure of$63,343.12 for parks mowers. In addition, staff requests the City Council to approve the State Bid purchase of the Parks truck with options totaling $14,673. All items are within the 1995 budget allocation for Parks Equipment Capital, 1C0-430;-703.
