THIS IS <br /> IT. . . . <br /> For the Week of June 5, 1995 - June 9, 1995 <br /> ADMINISTRATION <br /> Lynnette and I attended the monthly TUG meeting this morning - this is the Metro <br /> area personnel group that are, by far, the best source of expertise on human <br /> resources issues in the state. As always, I learned of more federal mandates that will <br /> impact us beginning January 1, 1996. A couple of years ago, I read that human <br /> resources was the most complex and rapidly changing area of management in the <br /> public sector (we are under twice as many guidelines as the private sector) and it <br /> appears that remains true today. Lynnette will continue to go to the meetings so that <br /> we can keep pace with this ever changing field. <br /> LMC Conference <br /> I will be attending the LMC conference (Duluth) Tuesday - Friday of next week. The <br /> Board meeting is Tuesday afternoon and I have a session presentation on Strategic <br /> Planning on Wednesday afternoon. Michele will have the number where I can be <br /> reached and Paul will be in charge during my absence. Once again, feel free to <br /> introduce him to "trial by fire". <br /> Assessment Hearing Continuation <br /> I have asked a representative from Health Span, Mark Allen, the Police and Fire <br /> Chiefs to be present at Monday's meeting to answer any questions the Council or <br /> public may have in regards to emergency vehicles and varying street widths. I also <br /> contacted a representative from MTC who commented that the narrow streets make it <br /> difficult for buses when there is parking on both sides of the street, but it does not <br /> present a real issue in Mounds View as buses generally do not transverse most <br />
