Proposed Addition to Pinewood Elementary
Comm. No. 6184.901.06-0
Dear Paul:
The Mounds View School District is proposing to construct 5,600 sf addition to the south
David C. Norback, A.I.A. side of Pinewood Elementary.
Terry Wobken, A.I.A.
The addition will include one Kindergarten classroom with support space, two classrooms
and some smaller special use meeting rooms. The new classrooms are intended to regain the
band/orchestra and Media Center spaces now used for traditional classrooms. The actual
student population is forecasted to be relatively consistent with this year's population.
The addition is to be constructed where bituminous blacktop play area currently exists. The
net gain of imperious surfacing would be the emergency vehicle access along the south side
of this building.
The parking would be maximized within the existing bituminous parking area with a gain of
six spaces to satisfy the new square footage parking requirements.
Judd A.
