REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA SESSION DATE <br />June 5, 1995 <br />Agenda Section: 16. <br />Report Number: (45-1374WS- <br />Report Date: <br />6-1-95 <br />DISPOSITION <br />Item DescriptioD:iscussion of Proposed Ordinance Amending Mounds View City Code Pertaining to <br />Peddlers, Solicitors and Transient Merchants <br />Administrator's Review/Recommendation: <br />- No comments to supplement this repor r✓Yi� <br />- Comments attached. <br />Explanation/Summary (attach supplement s eets as cessary.) <br />UMMARY; <br />Per the discussions at the May work session with City Attorney, Jim Thomson, regarding <br />peddlers, solicitors and transient merchants, attached is the proposed ordinance amending <br />Mounds View City Code, Chapter 504. <br />The proposed ordinance requires the permit holders to clearly exhibit their permit to allow for <br />easy identification when enforcing the code, allows home owners to post a no peddlers and <br />solicitors sign prohibiting them from peddling and soliciting even if they hold a license and sets <br />specific hours that they may conduct business. <br />According to Jim Thomson, these revisions significantly improves the current code and stays <br />within the State Statue for regulation of peddlers, solicitors and transient merchants.
