* We arrested a juvenile male this week who had a radar detector
strapped to his bike. The detector was powered by a battery. Whenever
a squad got within two blocks, the detector would go off. Good way to
tell if cops are in the area. This Juvenile is a suspect in the spray -
paintings. We made some adjustments in our patrol procedures.
* Fedor's Market was broken into early Monday morning. Suspects
broke the front window and grabbed cartons of cigarettes. A witness
saw a pick-up truck and two teenagers by the store. No other info
about suspects.
* Dave Brick is on vacation this week. Dave and other members of
the department will be fishing in the Police Officer Walleye
Tournament next Monday on Mille Lacs Lake.
*
The Chief started the budget process this week not a
pretty sight. Swear words not often heard will be emitting from his
office for the next few weeks.
* Was informed last week that the squad car we ordered, will not
be built until September (earliest). Probable delivery date will be
after the first of the year. We may purchase a Ford before then. YUK!!
Tim R.
• Mike Ulrich & I met with representatives of Water Products & Sensus
Technologies to discuss financing options for water meters.
• Finally, work has been completed on the 1994 financial statements and annual
audit. That means an additional 3% discount off standard
premiums. Thank you to Public Works & Police for their good safety records.
Don
