UN : !" R1iVEI <br /> Mounds View City Council Page 2 <br /> Regular Meeting April 10, 1995 <br /> 1 SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS: <br /> 2 <br /> 3 A. Fire Chief Ron Fagerstrom came before the Council and <br /> 4 introduced the new Fire Chief, Nyle Zikmund. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Councilmember Trude expressed her appreciation to Chief <br /> 7 Fagerstrom for all the reports furnished to the Councilmembers <br /> 8 over the years. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Mayor Linke stated that Nyle was selected through a hiring <br /> 11 process in which applicants were considered from a five-state <br /> 12 area. Linke extended his congratulations to Nyle and welcomed <br /> 13 him aboard. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 B. Susan Fisher, a representative of the Marketing Task Force, <br /> 16 offered a detailed presentation of the Marketing Program which <br /> 17 had been compiled by the Marketing Task Force as a result of <br /> 18 FOCUS 2000. Ms. Fisher used an overhead projector to <br /> 19 illustrate the highlights of the program. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Cathy Bennett, Economic Development Coordinator, reported that <br /> 22 the Marketing Task force had made recommendations for <br /> 23 improvements to the New Residents Guide, the community <br /> 24 newsletter MOUNDS VIEW MATTERS, the MOUNDS VIEW COMMUNITY <br /> 25 PROFILE, the BUSINESS BEAT newsletter, and the attraction <br /> 26 response package. Ms. Bennett explained the Buy Mounds View <br /> 27 First Campaign and the plans for an image enhancement program. <br /> 28 A good news campaign was briefly outlined, as well as an <br /> 29 advertising campaign. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Ms. Bennett concluded that the Marketing Task Force was very <br /> 32 interested in continuing with the implementation of these <br /> 33 programs. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Mayor Linke expressed his appreciation to the Marketing Task <br /> 36 Force for all of their hard work in putting together the <br /> 37 Marketing Program. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Councilmember Trude commented that it was wonderful to get so <br /> 40 much professional help at no cost. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, read the Consent Agenda as <br /> 45 follows: <br /> 46 <br /> 47 A.
