REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION11110r Agenda Section: 18
UW
STAFFREPORT Report Number: 94-1067WS
EW
AGENDA SESSION DATE February 7, 1994 Report Date: 2-3-94
DISPOSITION
Item Description: Year End Report — Police
Administrator's Review/Recommendation:
- No comments to supplement this report
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
SUMMARY;
* Officer Baumgart was hired in May. He completed his training
period and he will complete his probationary period this May.
* Terry Broos completed his training and became the Department's
Firearm and Use of Force instructor.
* Dave Brick (with help from Kitty) became computer literate.
Officer activities and time are compiled by him on the
computer.
* MDT'S were installed in three marked squads. Driver License
checks and vehicle registrations are now alot easier.
* The Department installed two new PC's and a laser printer. The
Police Department also became part of the City-wide network.
* Jack Chambers left the Investigation Division and join the
Patrol. Tim Brennan was assigned to the Investigation
Division.
* The Property/Evidence room was inventoried and the records
were computerized. This was just in time to move everything into the
new evidence room.
* Dave Brick spent a great deal of time updating and rewriting
the Emergency Management Plan. The plan has been submitted to the
State and we are awaiting a response.
* November and December were spent in the dust and debris of
the remodeling project. Its been disruptive and frustrating at
times, •u it will be worth it.
Ti R. a r, Police Chief
RECOMMENDATION:
