At the 1993 Council/Staff Strategic Planning Session, a goal to develop a system of "Operations to <br /> Improve, Expand and Enhance the City's Infrastructure" was approved. Action steps for this were as <br /> follows: <br /> * Complete all improvements funded by the 1991. Water Bond Program. <br /> * Prepare a System Analysis of the sanitary sewer system to determine appropriate strategies for <br /> improving existing watermains for a program of upgrading facilities. <br /> * Develop a long term street program and funding strategy to provide a cost effective program <br /> of street improvements. <br /> • Implement the surface water management plan through adoption of funding mechanisms and <br /> approval of necessary capital outlays. <br /> * Identify opportunities for expansion and enhancement of City parks and open space. <br /> 1993 YEAR-END ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br /> * Water Bond Program <br /> *Completed construction of new 500,000 gallon elevated water storage tank. <br /> *Completed construction of Trunk Highway 10 water main crossing. <br /> *Initiated construction of Water Treatment Plants 2 and 3 revisions. (Plant revisions <br /> are anticipated to be completed by Spring of 1994.) <br /> * Completed yearly street inventory and updated Pavement Management Program. <br /> • Identified maintenance projects for 1994 in the Surface Water Drainage System. <br /> * Completed reports for recovery of MSA funds. <br /> * Worked jointly with Ramsey County and the City of Fridley on the reconstruction of <br /> Pleasantview Drive. <br /> * Completed the utility activity on the Long Lake Road Reconstruction Project. <br />
