At the 1993 Council/Staff Strategic Planning Session, a goal to develop a system of "Operations to Improve, Expand and Enhance the City's Infrastructure" was approved. Action steps for this were as follows: * Complete all improvements funded by the 1991. Water Bond Program. * Prepare a System Analysis of the sanitary sewer system to determine appropriate strategies for improving existing watermains for a program of upgrading facilities. * Develop a long term street program and funding strategy to provide a cost effective program of street improvements. • Implement the surface water management plan through adoption of funding mechanisms and approval of necessary capital outlays. * Identify opportunities for expansion and enhancement of City parks and open space. 1993 YEAR-END ACCOMPLISHMENTS * Water Bond Program *Completed construction of new 500,000 gallon elevated water storage tank. *Completed construction of Trunk Highway 10 water main crossing. *Initiated construction of Water Treatment Plants 2 and 3 revisions. (Plant revisions are anticipated to be completed by Spring of 1994.) * Completed yearly street inventory and updated Pavement Management Program. • Identified maintenance projects for 1994 in the Surface Water Drainage System. * Completed reports for recovery of MSA funds. * Worked jointly with Ramsey County and the City of Fridley on the reconstruction of Pleasantview Drive. * Completed the utility activity on the Long Lake Road Reconstruction Project.
