Council Business Item Description: Consideration of Resolution No. 4495 Creating FOCUS 2000 Steering Committee and Appointing Members Administrator's Review/Recommendation: - No comments to supplement this report `)1`�' - Comments attached. • Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.) SUMMARY; The Public Forums are completed and the Issue Project Teams are almost done refining their respective parts of the Final Report for presentation to the City Council. The next step is to consider establishing a .Focus 2000 Steering Committee. This steering committee, which would be made up of Issue Project Team members, would be charged with writing the community- wide Vision Statement and Mission Statement as well as overseeing the on- going implementation aspect of the project. The Team members interested in serving on the Focus 2000 Steering Committee are: • Dan Nelson - City Government • Stefan Benson - Housing and Neighborhoods • Bob Easton - Housing and Neighborhoods • * - Growth, Development and Business • * - Growth, Development and Business • These names will be submitted Monday night. This group did not meet soon enough to include in this staff report. (They meet on Thursday night) . The immediate goal of this Steering Committee would be to have both the Vision and Mission Statements prepared by April 4, in time for the Annual Council/Staff Strategic Planning Session. • /l11 ( ;J ,?1J( Tim Cruikshank, Asst. to City Admin. RECOMMENDATION: Motion to waive reading and adopt Resolution No. 4495, establishing the Focus 2000 Steering Committee and appointing Issue Project Team members to serve on this committee.
