RESOLUTION #4497 (3) <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br /> PROPOSAL FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS TO FOUR NEIGHBORHOOD PARK <br /> BUILDINGS TO COMPLY WITH ADA REGULATIONS FOR ACCESSIBILITY OF <br /> PUBLIC BUILDINGS TO THE PUBLIC. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is interested in providing improvements to <br /> park buildings for the increased demand of space to facilitate community residents and groups, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View also understands that improvements must <br /> comply with ADA regulations, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View currently facilitates one park building that <br /> has been improved years ago to include indoor restroom facilities and accessibility, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has received more demand for the use of <br /> that particular park building (Random Park Building) that the time and space allows, thus <br /> indicating a large need for space available to groups of the community, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Focus 2000 project team Neighborhood and Housing <br /> recommended the improvement of neighborhood park buildings to provide adequately for the <br /> public's use for meetings and groups and other activities to serve as a neighborhood focal point <br /> and to also provide social support services to families and individuals, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mounds View Parks and Recreation Commission has also <br /> indicated their desire to have the neighborhood park buildings upgraded in accessibility with <br /> proper restroom facilities to meet the high demands of space for scout groups, senior citizens, <br /> preschool, and after school activities, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has insufficient funds for the accessibility <br /> and restroom facilities of the four neighborhood park buildings. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br /> Mounds View approves the Community Development Grant which requests funding for the <br /> improvements to four neighborhood park buildings to include accessibility improvements and <br /> restroom facilities so that the buildings can be used by the community for support activities. <br /> Adopted this 14th day of February, 1994. <br /> (SEAL) <br /> Mayor Jerry Linke <br /> Attest: <br /> Clerk-Administrator Samantha Orduno <br />
