We will present, for your
consideration, more detailed information and a resolution which will
set a sale date for the refunding bonds at the March 28, 1994
Council Meeting.
• The Long Term Financial Plan has provided for the replacement of
the computer system that we use for financial reporting and utility
billing. On Tuesday Kitty Hickok and I met with a representative of
Computoservice, Inc. to discuss our system requirements and to
provide information so that the representative can prepare a
quotation-for us for budget purposes. An IBM RISC system has
been recommended. This system would provide processing
speeds up to 20 times faster than our present system. Our present
system was purchased in 1989 and has an early 386 processor.
• The County has mailed out Notice of Your Property's 1994
Estimated Market Value this week. The value on the Notice is the
value that is used to calculate the tax capacity value of the property.
The tax capacity value times the tax capacity rate equals the taxes
due on a property. Thus, the Estimated Market Value assigned by
the County has a direct impact on the amount of taxes a property
owner will pay in 1995. The procedure to appeal the Estimated
Market Value assigned by the County is on the reverse side of the
Notice.
Don B.
PUBLIC
WORKS
Road Restrictions go into effect March 14, 1994, 12:01 am. We sent
out letters to the hauler's informing them of the date and our policy.
(Hauler's will be able to obtain permits, $20.00 per entrance into the
City, that would allow them to run 7 tons per axle.)
