RESOLUTION 7593 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE 2010 MUNICIPAL <br />WELL NO. 1 & 2 REHABILITATION PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City established a maintenance program whereby municipal <br />wells, pumps, and motors would be rehabilitated on a seven-year cycle; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Municipal Well No. 1 and 2 were last rehabilitated in March 2003 and <br />are showing symptoms requiring rehabilitation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City prepared a project manual for the rehabilitation work in <br />accordance with industry standards; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City solicited and received five quotes ranging from $79,015 to <br />$99,350 by contractors to perform the rehabilitation work; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Keys Well Drilling Company of St. Paul, Minnesota submitted the <br />lowest total combined quote in the amount of $79,015; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, monies for rehabilitating Well No. 1 and 2 has been planned for in the <br />Capital Improvement Program and in the adopted 2010 Budget under Water <br />Infrastructure and Equipment Maintenance (700-4823-7050). <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1. The City hereby accepts the total combined quote proposal of $79,015 <br />submitted by Keys Well Drilling Company or St. Paul, Minnesota for the <br />rehabilitation of two municipal wells. <br />2. City Staff is authorized to prepare a construction contract agreement between <br />the City of Mounds View and Keys Well Drilling Company in the amount of <br />$79,015. <br />3. Upon satisfactory review of the prepared construction contract agreement by <br />the City Attorney, the Mayor and Clerk-Administrator are hereby authorized <br />and directed, for and on behalf of the City, to execute and enter into a <br />construction contract agreement with Keys Well Drilling Company for the 2010 <br />Municipal Well No. 1 & 2 Rehabilitation Project (City Project No. 2010-001). <br />4. Payment for construction of the 2010 Municipal Well No. 1 & 2 Rehabilitation <br />Project shall be funded by the Water Enterprise Fund account (700-4823- <br />7050) in an amount not to exceed $82,965, which includes a 5% construction <br />contingency for minor work associated with unknowns that could occur during <br />construction.
