Council was supportive of all the suggestions proposed by <br />City Staff, and directed staff to draft an ordinance making the changes. There also are <br />changes for campaign signs in this ordinance due to the date change of the state primary. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />On Monday, September 27, 2010, the City Council approved the introduction and first <br />reading of Ordinance 847 that makes several changes to Chapter 1008 about signs, <br />including campaign signs in order to ensure the City Code is consistent with State law. The <br />Council preferred that the non-commercial opinion sign size be limited to six square feet in <br />R-1, R-2 and R-3 zoning districts, and staff has made that change to the ordinance. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Approve the second reading and adoption of Ordinance 847, an Ordinance amending <br />Chapter 1008, relating to signs.
