<br /> <br />RESOLUTION 7688 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A ONE -YEAR LABOR CONTRACT FOR THE YEAR <br />2010 WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT LABOR SERVICES, INC. (LELS) LOCAL NO. 232, <br />REPRESENTING SERGEANTS <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the labor agreement between the City of Mounds View and LELS Local <br />232 expired at the end of 2009; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, negotiations between the City and LELS reached an impasse in 2010, <br />resulting in mediation; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, because mediation did not result in a settlement, LELS exercised its right <br />to binding arbitration, which was scheduled for October 8, 2010; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, prior to the arbitration scheduled for October 8, an arbitrator’s ruling <br />affecting LELS Local 204 (Patrol Officers) was released on September 29 which awarded a <br />one-year contract to that unit with an increase in insurance contributions to $867.33 per <br />month; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, rather than going through the time and expense of arbitration, LELS <br />Local 232 agreed to drop all outstanding issues for 2010 in return for the same one-year <br />contract and additional insurance contributions awarded LELS Local 204. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View does hereby ratify a labor agreement for and with Local 232 of Law Enforcement Labor <br />Services, Inc., with an increased City insurance contribution of $867.33 per month, <br />retroactively effective for one year from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 <br /> <br />Adopted this 25th day of October, 2010. <br /> <br /> __________________________ <br />Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> __________________________ <br />James Ericson <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />(seal)
