She further reviewed the numerous benefits of the 1 <br />program and how it would benefit veterans and their families. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Council Member Gunn noted the Music of the Knight event was held on Saturday at the Irondale 4 <br />High School, with 15 schools attending from Minnesota and Wisconsin. She encouraged all to 5 <br />attend the bands next performance. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Council Member Mueller stated the Festival in the Park executive committee met on September 8 <br />21st. Next year’s event was already being planned and is scheduled for August 20th. She 9 <br />encouraged anyone interested in volunteering for the event to attend the next committee meeting. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Council Member Mueller indicated on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 the police department 12 <br />was hosting a meeting at the Community Center at 7:00 p.m. regarding a level three offender. 13 <br />Police Chief Kinney indicated a number of experts would be on hand to address the concerns of 14 <br />the community. 15 <br /> 16 <br /> B. Police Department Quarterly Report 19 <br /> 20 <br />Police Chief Kinney reviewed the second quarter Police Department report, April through June 21 <br />with the Council. He touched on the highlights stating calls for service were slightly up from last 22 <br />year. He indicated traffic enforcement remains one of the top complaints and DWI saturation 23 <br />events were up from last year. Another large portion of calls were medical in nature. Police 24 <br />Chief Kinney explained the department was approximately 7% below the budget through second 25 <br />quarter. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Council Member Mueller questioned how bullying on Facebook or through texts should be 28 <br />handled. Police Chief Kinney indicated a report can always be filed especially if the person feels 29 <br />they are being harassed. He added that the school would also be a valuable resource in this 30 <br />situation. 31 <br /> 32 <br />City Administrator Ericson reviewed the October work session agenda with the Council. 33 <br /> 34 <br />City Administrator Ericson explained a meeting was held with Bethlehem Baptist Church on 35 <br />September 15th and was willing to fund a number of items. The City was waiting to hear back 36 <br />from the church on their decision. 37 <br /> 38 <br />City Administrator Ericson noted there was no update on the police officers arbitrator. He would 39 <br />pass along the information when received. 40 <br /> 41 <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated October 2nd was the fall clean up day at the Mounds View 42 <br />Public Works Facility. Additional information was available on the City’s website. 43 <br /> 44
