RESOLUTION NO. 7701 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A MINNESOTA GOVERNMENT DATA PRACTICES ACT <br />POLICY AND DESIGNATING THE RESPONSIBLE AUTHORITY AND COMPLIANCE <br />OFFICER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View (“City”) needs to update a policy concerning its <br />procedures and obligations pursuant to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (Minnesota <br />Statutes Chapter 13) (“MGDPA”); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City would like to adopt a policy that specifies its procedures and <br />obligations pursuant to the MGDPA; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the MGDPA, Minnesota Statutes Section 13.02, subdivision 16 and the <br />MGDPA policy to be adopted by the City requires it to designate the individual responsible for <br />the collection, use, and dissemination of any set of data on individuals, government data, or <br />summary data (the “Responsible Authority”) for the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the MGDPA, Minnesota Statutes Section 13.05, subdivision 13 and the <br />MGDPA policy to be adopted by the City also requires it to designate the individual responsible <br />for persons to direct questions or concerns regarding problems in obtaining access to data or <br />other data practices problems for the City (the “Compliance Official”); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City would like to officially designate its Responsible Authority and <br />Compliance Official. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Minnesota, as follows: <br /> <br />1. The document entitled “Minnesota Government Data Practices Act Guidelines and <br />Procedures” is hereby adopted as the City’s official MGDPA policy. <br /> <br />2. Jim Ericson, the City Administrator, is hereby designated as the Responsible <br />Authority for the purposes of the MGDPA and the City’s MGDPA policy. <br /> <br />3.
