5 <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7393 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION GIVING PRELIMINARY APPROVAL TO THE 2008 COMPREHENSIVE <br />PLAN UPDATE AND AUTHORIZING THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE PLAN UPDATE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is requiring the City of Mounds View to update its <br />Comprehensive Plan; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City formed a steering committee (task force) in 2007 to help with <br />the plan update that met several times in 2007 and 2008 to review and comment on the <br />current Comprehensive Plan and to offer suggestions for changes to the Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on November 19, 2008, the Mounds View Planning Commission held a <br />public hearing to review and consider the entire 2008 Comprehensive Plan update; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after the review and discussion of the proposed plan update, the Planning <br />Commission adopted Resolution 897-08, supporting Council approval of the 2008 <br />Comprehensive Plan update; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed the Comprehensive Plan update during its <br />work session on December 1, 2008; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City staff had a public hearing notice published in the official City <br />newspaper on December 24, 2008, and on January 1, 2009; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing about the Comprehensive Plan <br />update on Monday, January 12, 2009; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the entire 2008 Comprehensive Plan <br />update; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the Planning Commission’s <br />resolution recommending approval of the 2008 Comprehensive Plan update. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Mounds View City Council gives <br />preliminary approval to the 2008 Comprehensive Plan update. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Mounds View City Council <br />authorizes City staff to distribute the 2008 Comprehensive Plan update to adjacent and <br />affected governmental units to allow their review of the proposed Plan. <br /> <br />
