Mounds View City Council January 12, 2009 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />Community Development Director Roberts presented the staff report detailing the history of the 1 <br />Comprehensive Plan update and the Planning Commission’s support for the City Council to 2 <br />approve the Comprehensive Plan update. Community Development Director Roberts advised 3 <br />that as part of the update process, which is required by the Met Council, the Plan now contains 4 <br />more information, updated statistics, and updated references to the street and utility program. 5 <br />However, most of the goals and policies of the City remain. Community Development Director 6 <br />Roberts explained that since the December Work Session, staff has made the final housekeeping 7 <br />changes to the Plan, none being substantial but clerical or grammatical in nature. Staff 8 <br />recommends the Council approve the draft resolution to give preliminary approval to the 9 <br />Comprehensive Plan and authorize staff to distribute the updated Plan to adjacent and affected 10 <br />governmental units. In the past, the City has posted an executive summary with an attached 41 <br />representation of the existing and future land use maps. He recommended the same be done with 42 <br />this Plan version. 43 <br /> 44
