Item No. 8B <br />Meeting Date:February 23, 2009 <br />Type of Business: CA <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review _______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To:Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From:Joe Rhein, Consulting Engineer <br />Item Title/Subject:Resolution 7417 Accepting the 2003 Street <br />Improvement Project and Authorizing Final Payment <br />Background: <br />On October 13, 2003 the City Council adopted Resolution 6109 authorizing the <br />preparation of plan and specifications for the 2003 Street Improvement Project. <br />On January 26, 2004 the City Council adopted Resolution 6166 approving the <br />Feasibility Report and setting a Public Improvement Hearing date for the 2003 <br />Street Improvement Project. <br />On February 23, 2004 the City Council held the Public Improvement Hearing on <br />the 2003 Street Improvement Project and adopted Resolution 6185 to Order the <br />Project. <br />On March 22, 2004 the City Council adopted Resolution 6201 approving the <br />plans and specifications, setting a bid date, and authorizing the advertisement for <br />bids for the 2003 Street Improvement Project. <br />On May 24, 2004 the City Council adopted Resolution 6268 awarding a <br />construction contract for the 2003 Street Improvement Project to Hardrives Inc. of <br />Rogers, Minnesota in the amount of $1,674,769.46 <br />Discussion: <br />Hardrives Inc. has requested that acceptance and final payment be made by the <br />City for the 2003 Street Improvement Project. All work has been satisfactorily <br />completed in accordance with the contract plans and specifications. <br />The necessary contract documents have been provided. A copy of Request for <br />Payment No. 9 & Final is included with this Staff Report, along with a project <br />summary letter providing a recap of the construction scope, schedule, and cost.
