RESOLUTION NO. 7418 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA A Resolution Authorizing the Hire of Nicholas DeBar to the Position of Public Works Director WHEREAS, upon direction from the Mounds View City Council, the Public Works Director position was advertised; and WHEREAS, fifteen applications were received for the position and six were chosen for interview; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Nicholas DeBar’s skills and experience were determined to most closely match the duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Public Works Director job description; and WHEREAS, Mr. DeBar has consented to a criminal background check, and Staff has submitted the criminal background check application to the Minnesota Department of Criminal Apprehension; and WHEREAS, the hire of Mr. Debar to the position of Public Works Director is pending a satisfactory criminal background check and satisfactory reference checks. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council appoints Mr. Nicholas DeBar to the position of Public Works Director with employment to commence on March 30, 2009, subject to a satisfactory background check from the Minnesota Department of Criminal Apprehension and employment reference checks. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council approves the salary scale for the Public Works Director position as indicated herein, with a starting salary for Mr. DeBar at Step 3 of the City’s pay plan at $41.09/hour ($85,467.20/year), with an increase to Step 4 of the salary range after one year of employment, and Step 5 after two years of employment, subject to City Council authorization.
