Mounds View City Council February 23, 2009 <br />Regular Meeting Page 14 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Mueller stated her support to combine the two projects, which will show 2 <br />progress and excite the community. City Engineer Rhein stated both are on the south side of 3 <br />CR10 and it is feasible to combine as a single project. 4 <br /> 5 <br />The Council indicated support to pursue this recommendation and directed it to be placed on the 6 <br />March 9, 2009 Council agenda for consideration. 7 <br /> 8 <br /> 5. New Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Community Development Director Roberts advised that because of internal issues with the 11 <br />Minneapolis North Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, four cities located on the east side of the 12 <br />Mississippi River have decided to opt out and work with the National Sport Center to form a new 13 <br />Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Staff will keep the Council informed as details become 14 <br />available. 15 <br /> 16 <br />C. Reports of City Attorney. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Clerk-Administrator Ericson provided an update on the interviews for the Public Works Director 19 <br />position, advising there are two experienced candidates that staff would like to refer to the 20 <br />Council for consideration. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Following discussion, Council consensus was reached to schedule a Special Workshop on 23 <br />Monday, March 2, at 6:00 p.m., to conduct Public Works Director interviews. Council requested 24 <br />staff provide a list of the questions already asked and questions that could be asked. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Council Member Stigney requested staff also provide an explanation as to why a consensus was 27 <br />not reached at the staff level on one candidate to recommend. 28 <br /> 29 <br />12. Next Council Work Session: Monday, March 2, 2009, at 7 p.m. 30 <br />Next Council Meeting: Monday, March 9, 2009, at 7 p.m. 31 <br /> 32 <br />13. ADJOURNMENT 33 <br /> 34 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Stigney.
