This schedule is consistent with the feasibility report for Area C. <br />Feasibility Report ordered – Area B (f.k.a. 2005 SUIP)Oct. 13, 2003 <br />Report completed, Public Hearing held – Area B Mar. 14, 2005 <br />Petition in opposition to Area B upheld May 9, 2005 <br />Preliminary survey – Area C Fall 2008 <br />Feasibility Report ordered – Area C Mar. 9, 2009 <br />Neighborhood meeting – Combined Areas B & C June 2, 2009 <br />Feasibility Report completed – Area C July 8, 2009 <br />Public Hearing, approve Reports, order combined project July 13, 2009 <br />Approve plans and specifications – combined project Dec. 14, 2009 <br />Bid opening – combined project Jan. 28, 2010 <br />Begin construction May 2010 <br />The project schedule listed above would also be correct if the 2010 project were to be <br />Area B only. <br />Conclusions: <br />From the information contained in this Staff Report it can be concluded that the project <br />development schedule for Area C of the Street and Utility Improvement Program can be <br />accelerated such that it can be combined with Area B, with the combined project <br />scheduled for construction in 2010. It can be further concluded that there is an <br />economic benefit to combining the projects for Areas B and C. <br />Recommendation: <br />Resolution 7478 has been prepared to authorize the preparation of the plans and <br />specifications for the street and utility improvement project to be constructed in 2010. <br />The Resolution has been prepared based on the assumption that the 2010 project will <br />be for combined Areas B and C. A copy of the resolution is included with this Staff <br />Report. If the Council were to choose to proceed with Area B only for the project, the <br />Resolution would need to be revised to reflect that condition. <br />It is recommended the City Council adopt Resolution 7478 to authorize preparation of <br />plans and specifications for Areas B and C of the Street and Utility Improvement <br />Program.
