Date of Report: July 27, 2009 Background: Officer Peter Berling (MVPD), Officer Nick Erickson (MVPD), Michael Strand (Cable), and Don Burda (Community Development) are current employees with the City of Mounds View. Officer Berling and Officer Erickson’s supervisor, Deputy Chief Tom Kinney, has reviewed their performances as it relates to their responsibilities outlined in the job description. It was determined that they have satisfactorily performed in the capacity of their position as Mounds View Police Officers. Michael Strand’s supervisor, Vanessa Van Alstine, has reviewed his performance as it relates to his responsibilities outlined in the job description. It was determined that Mr. Strand has satisfactorily performed in the capacity of the Part Time Cable Technician position. Don Burda’s supervisor, Ken Roberts, has reviewed his performance as it relates to his responsibilities outlined in the job description. It was determined that Mr. Burda has satisfactorily performed in the capacity of the Temporary Building Inspector position. Staff should have brought this forward in May, however due to the temporary nature of Mr. Burda’s position, the anniversary date was overlooked. Mr. Burda has submitted his resignation as Temporary Building Inspector (his last day was July 23, 2009). His resignation will be discussed further under Reports of Staff. Discussion: It was determined that Officer Berling, Officer Erickson, Michael Strand and Don Burda have satisfactorily performed in the capacity of their position, and therefore, a step increase wage adjustment is consistent with the Personnel Manual and Labor Agreements.
