<br />Item No: 07G <br />Meeting Date: November 9, 2009 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />Administrator Review : ____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Clerk-Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 7525, A Resolution in Support of Community <br />Access Preservation Act (HR 3745) <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />At the November Work Session, Cor Wilson (Executive Director of NSCC/CTV) and <br />Barbara Haake (Cable Committee Chair) addressed the City Council on the Community <br />Access Preservation Act (CAP) being introduced in Congress. Attached is information, <br />which outlines CAP, and the immediate issues facing public, education, and government <br />TV channels (PEG). <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />Ms. Wilson and Ms. Haake requested that the City Council consider adopting a Resolution <br />that would support this new legislation. It was the consensus of the City Council to pass a <br />resolution of support for the Community Access Preservation Act (HR 2735) at the next <br />regular City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends adopting attached Resolution 7525, in support of the Community <br />Preservation Act, as requested by the City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Desaree Crane <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
