RESOLUTION 7546 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZING CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR CITY HALL ELECTRICAL SERVICE ENTRANCE MODIFICATIONS WHEREAS, the City adopted the Ramsey County Emergency Operations Plan in 2005, authorizing the Mounds View City Hall as the Emergency Operations Center (EOC); and WHEREAS, the City purchased a 150-kW mobile emergency generator in 2009 to be used as a backup source of power during power outages; and WHEREAS, the Mounds View City Hall needs modifications to the electrical service entrance before the emergency generator can function as a source of backup power supply to the City Hall; and WHEREAS, a project manual was prepared for the electrical service entrance modifications and bids were received by the City on December 10, 2009 as follows: Rank Bidder Base Bid Alt. 1 Total Bid Low Hymark Electric $15,800 $1,725 $17,525 2 Electrical Installation & Maintenance Co. $19,375 $2,075 $21,450 3 Muska Electric $23,595 $2,950 $26,545 and WHEREAS, Hymark Electric of Stacy, Minnesota was the lowest responsible bidder with a total base bid amount of $17,252; and WHEREAS, monies have been planned for the improvements in the adopted 2009 Budget for $50,000 under Special Projects (280-4180-7050). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. The City accept the Bid Proposal submitted by Hymark Electric for the Base Bid and Add Alternate 1 work in the total Bid amount of $17,525 for the City Hall Electric Service Entrance Modifications. 2. City Staff is authorized to prepare a construction contract agreement between the City of Mounds View and Hymark Electric for $17,525. 3. The City Attorney is authorized to review the prepared construction contract agreement and any associated documentation submitted by Hymark Electric.
