Mounds View City Council December 10, 2007
Regular Meeting Page 10

MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller. To Approve the November 26, 2007 City Council 1
Meeting Minutes. 2
3
Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 4
5
11. REPORTS 6
7
A. Mayor and Council 8
9
Mayor Marty noted that Active Living Ramsey County is seeking participation of communities 10
within the County to participate in monthly meetings. They are preparing an application for 11
money for benches along the corridor trails. He then asked Staff to make sure that the Resolution 12
comes to Council so that can get going. 13
14
Mayor Marty asked who is assigned to clean the Community Center, after weekend events, 15
because the YMCA Staff does not have very many employees, and one employee had to haul out 16
10 loads of trash late at night, and that can be a safety issue that should not be happening. Mayor 17
Marty asked Staff to look into that issue. 18
19
Mayor Marty indicated that he and Council Member Mueller went to Penny Pincher’s Grand Re-20
Opening. The store is twice as big now and nicer inside. 21
22
Mayor Marty thanked Paster Enterprises for taking on an expansion and greatly improving 23
Mounds View Square. 24
25
Council Member Mueller reported that the Ninth Grade Class at Irondale High School is taking 26
on a citizenship project. One group took on the project of the Community Center and they 27
provided her a three page letter with the great ideas for the Community Center. 28
29
Council Member Mueller indicated that one interesting thing was that they surveyed 181 students 30
at the school, and those students came up with, was to sell the Community Center to a company 31
that could put money into the Community Center, if the City cannot afford to do so. Of the 32
students surveyed, 61 thought that a fitness center would be nice. 33
34
B. Reports of Staff 35
1. Reminder – Cancellation of December 26, 2007 Meeting 36
2. Salary Range for City Administrator Position 37
38
Interim Administrator Ericson indicated that Springsted has asked for clarification on the City 39
Administrator salary based on the salary survey. Staff asked Council whether any adjustments 40
should be made or if the existing salary should be relayed to Springsted. 41
42
Council agreed to leave the salary as it is. 43
44
C. Reports of City Attorney 45
