RESOLUTION NO. 7300 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY <br />OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS FOR THE USE OF WATER METER READING <br />EQUIPMENT <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Mounds View has 825 water meters that require <br />the use of a specialized and proprietary meter reader, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The vendor recently began charging the City $500 per <br />quarter for reading those meters, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Columbia Heights has a meter reader and will <br />allow the City to use it to read our meters provided we are responsible for any <br />damage during our use and we will assist in the cost of future upgrades, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City would need to purchase software at a cost of $3,000 <br />to utilize the meter reader. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1. That staff is authorized to sign a letter of agreement with the City of <br />Columbia Heights for use of their meter reader. <br /> <br />2. That staff is authorized to purchase the necessary software to utilize <br />the meter reader. <br /> <br />3.
