Recommendation:
In the 2008 budget, 251-4470-7050, $38,000.00 is budgeted for the playground
equipment replacement for City Hall Park. Staff and Commissioners determined that only
a portion of the equipment at the City Hall Park needed replacement. This equipment can
be purchased from Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground, which is state bid, at the cost of
$11,403.84. (Sales tax and shipping included in this cost.) The soccer goals will be
purchased from Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground, again state bid, at the cost of
$9,449.06. (Sales tax and included in this cost.)

Though the soccer goals are not listed as a budgeted item for 2008 and due to the fact
that the replacement playground equipment is well below the $38,000.00 budgeted
amount. Staff is recommending the purchase of soccer goals at this time along with the
playground equipment.

The total cost of the playground equipment and soccer goals is $26,595.16 and these
purchases will be derived from the Park Dedication Fund of 251-4470-7050.

Respectfully submitted,
Steve Dazenski, Parks Supervisor
