7 <br />2401 County Highway 10 <br />Mounds View, MN 55112 <br />Ramsey County <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Safe and Sober <br /> <br />This spring our department took part in two Traffic Enforcement Waves, “7 Days of Speed” in April <br />and a Seat Belt saturation in May. During the April enforcement wave Mounds View Officers stopped <br />47 cars and issued 52 citations and warnings. (35 Speed Citations and 17 warnings for various driving <br />and equipment violations). <br /> <br />During the Seat Belt Wave in May Officers stopped 123 vehicles and issued 116 Citations and <br />warnings (19 Seat Belt Citations and 97 speed warnings, Officers routinely stop cars for as little as 5 <br />MPH over the speed limit to check for Seat Belt Compliance.) Our pre enforcement Seat belt survey <br />came in at 82% compliance. Post Seat Belt Survey came in at 88% compliance. <br /> <br />Drivers are starting to wear their seatbelts regularly. <br /> <br />This summer in July we will be participating in the last Enforcement wave of the year. This DWI wave <br />usually takes place over the Labor Day Weekend but due to the RNC it was moved into the summer <br />months. <br /> <br />
