Mounds View City Council April 28, 2008 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Flaherty said that he is not sure that church groups or other nonprofit groups 2 <br />should be required to provide security for their events. He then suggested requiring only those 3 <br />groups that are licensed to sell alcohol. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Council Member Flaherty indicated he would like to review the $150 fee to see if it covers costs 6 <br />once this has been in place for a while. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Council Member Mueller said that she would like to table this to a work session to allow 9 <br />discussion on different levels of events that are held in the City. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Mayor Marty suggested amending the Resolution to just those that have a liquor license and/or 12 <br />those that would be applying for a liquor license for the event. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Administrator Ericson suggested tabling to allow further research on this policy and how events 15 <br />open to the public may be adversely impacted. 16 <br /> 17 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. Resolution 7266 Adopting City Vision, Mission Statement, Goals Program 22 <br /> and Value Statement 23 <br /> 24 <br />Administrator Ericson explained that adopted goals assist Staff with direction on how to move 25 <br />forward to accomplish the goals. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Administrator Ericson reviewed the mission and vision of the City with Council and those in 28 <br />attendance. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council asked that Staff read the values statement. Administrator Ericson read the values 31 <br />statement. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Mayor Marty indicated that he has received positive response and appreciation of a receptionist 34 <br />answering the phone rather than having to use voice mail. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Council reviewed the listed goals. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Mayor Marty suggested partnering with the Chamber to draft a marketing plan and adding it as a 39 <br />goal of the City. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Council Member Mueller indicated that there are some large businesses in the City of Brooklyn 42 <br />Park that are encouraging Mn/DOT to complete the rest of Highway 10 out to Brooklyn Park to 43 <br />move traffic over to them. 44 <br /> 45
