Mounds View City Council April 28, 2008 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson reminded everyone of Spring Clean Up Day from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon 1 <br />on May 3, 2008. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Administrator Ericson noted he attended the Ramsey County Library’s Master Facility Planning 4 <br />meeting and it looks like the Mounds View library is safe for now, but there are plans to add a 5 <br />larger library to the system. Administrator Ericson noted that there is plenty of room on the 6 <br />Mounds View library site to expand the building or add something. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Administrator Ericson reminded Council that the ribbon cutting for Totino’s is May 9, 2008. He 9 <br />then asked that Council Members attend, if possible, as he is not available to do so. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Administrator Ericson said that Heidi Steinmetz and he attended the Rotary dinner and it was a 12 <br />great opportunity for Heidi to meet a lot of the local business owners. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Administrator Ericson indicated that the Streets and Utilities Task Force met and the meeting 15 <br />was productive. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that he had asked Staff to look into how New Brighton 18 <br />charges for clean up day and what it actually costs the City for clean up day. He then said he had 19 <br />received a call regarding the $25 fee for a trunk load, and the resident felt that was excessive and 20 <br />may prevent people from cleaning up. 21 <br /> 22 <br />C. Reports of City Attorney 23 <br /> 24 <br />Attorney Riggs indicated that a memo was provided listing the legal items his office is handling. 25 <br />He then reviewed the listed legal matters with the Council. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Council Member Stigney asked how the bankruptcy affects the City. Attorney Riggs indicated he 28 <br />thought it was a utility fee for water. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Flaherty asked if there is an end date on the billboards. Attorney Riggs said 31 <br />that the only thing outstanding is some clean up of the Ordinance. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Council Member Mueller thanked the City Attorney for preparing the report to keep Council 34 <br />informed. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Mayor Marty commended Jim Ericson and Mark Beer for the letter to residents on the 2003 and 37 <br />2004 street project areas. He then said he felt the letter was concise and informative. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Council recessed to closed session to discuss contract negotiations at 9:30 p.m. 40 <br /> 41 <br />12.
