Resolution 7308, Authorizing Purchase of a Grinder for the Groveland Road 3 <br /> Lift Station 4 <br /> 5 <br />Mayor Marty noted that this matter was discussed at a work session. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Steve Dazenski from Public Works addressed Council and reviewed the Resolution authorizing 8 <br />the purchase of a grinder for the Groveland Road Lift Station. 9 <br /> 10 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Flaherty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7308, 11 <br />Authorizing Purchase of a Grinder for the Groveland Road Lift Station. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Mueller said that her Motion includes approval of the lower bid and 14 <br />overhauling the pumps after the installation of the grinder. 15 <br /> 16 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 17 <br /> 18 <br /> H. Resolution 7310, Authorizing the hire of Michael Strand, to the Part Time 19 <br /> Cable TV Technician position in the Administration Department. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Assistant Clerk Administrator Crane noted that the position was advertised and the City received 22 <br />12 applications and Staff interviewed six of those candidates. Mr. Strand was chosen as the most 23 <br />qualified for the position and all reference checks were completed satisfactorily. 24 <br /> 25 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Flaherty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7310, 26 <br />Authorizing the Hire of Michael Strand to the Part Time Cable TV Technician Position in the 27 <br />Administration Department. 28 <br /> 29 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 30 <br /> 31 <br /> I. Resolution 7311, Approving the 2008-2009 AFSCME Union Contract 32 <br /> 33 <br />Assistant Clerk Administrator Crane indicated that the AFSCME has agreed unanimously to the 34 <br />contract terms. The highlights are 3% wage increases, revisions in accordance with new 35 <br />regulations were made along with holiday language revisions. Staff recommends approval. 36 <br /> 37 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7311, 38 <br />Approving the 2008 – 2009 AFSCME Union Contract. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Council Member Stigney commented that he had a question as to if there are changes in the sick 41 <br />leave policy within the next two years he would like something in the contract that states that 42 <br />portion would be reopened for contract discussions. 43 <br /> 44 <br />Mayor Marty thanked Jim, Des and the employees for the good faith bargaining on this contract. 45
