vehicle transportation and instead use the <br /> services along this "downtown area". Highway 10 <br /> is a very intimidating obstacle for senior <br /> citizens regarding pedestrian crossing. A bridge <br /> would be greatly appreciated. (See the letter of <br /> recommendation from Wildwood Manor. ) <br /> Scotland Green Apartment Complex is a large <br /> apartment complex which houses approximately <br /> 630 people of which 157 are youth and 94 are <br /> senior citizens. This large complex is located on <br /> the corner of Long Lake Road and County Road H-2 , <br /> only a 1/2 block distance to Highway 10. This <br /> group of residents are high users of the <br /> "downtown" services and are within short walking <br /> distance. <br /> City Hall and City Hall Park is located near the <br /> corner of Long Lake Road and Highway 10. Many <br /> activities and services are offered at City Hall <br /> Complex including the park activities, picnics, <br /> baligames, playground, sand court volleyball, <br /> soccer, softball, etc. "Festival in the Park" the <br /> annual community celebration is held at City Hall <br /> Park. <br /> In conclusion, the intersection of Highway 10 and <br /> Long Lake Road is an important connection to most <br /> city services and facilities. There is a great <br /> need for a safe pedestrain / bicyclist passage <br /> across Highway 10. <br /> Map of area: See attached <br /> Population of the area served: 12 ,500 <br /> Employment density of the area served: 10 according to <br /> TAZ reports including TAZ 1021 at . 47, 1022 at 2 . 39, <br /> 1023 at 1. 43 , 1024 at 3 . 33 , and 1025 at 2 . 38 . <br /> Student enrollment for schools served: 3 , 350 <br /> Retail square footage of area served: <br /> 3 ,250 ftoffrontage <br /> 2 . Interface with other modes. <br /> Bus routes: <br /> Both the Minneapolis and St. Paul MTC <br /> buslines have routes near the Highway 10, <br /> Long Lake Road areas. Bus riders would most <br /> likely use the bridge crossing if walking to <br /> a bus stop which is located on the opposite <br />
