Mr. O'Hara stated that they had a state boxing license <br /> but he was very surprised that the City had not been notified by the <br /> Golden Gloves organization. .Minnesota Statutes, 1992 , 341. 08, indicate <br /> that before the State Boxing Commission issues any licenses to conduct <br /> boxing or sparring exhibitions in the municipality, it requires the <br /> consent of the governing body. . <br /> I contacted Mr. Clyde Nedland, Upper Midwest Golden Gloves, on Monday. <br /> He explained that he had been out of town and left the paperwork to <br /> someone else who apparently did not follow through. At the time of this <br /> memo, I have no registration application or certificate of insurance to <br /> provide the Council. It has been promised that I will receive it prior <br /> to the Monday Council Meeting. The Police Chief had not been notified <br /> regarding the use of two sworn officers for the event either. <br /> I have prepared two resolutions, Resolution No. 4535 Approving Upper <br /> Midwest Golden Gloves Championships to be Held at the Bel-Rae Ballroom <br /> on Thursday, March 31, 1994 and Friday, April 1, 1994 and Resolution No. <br /> 4536 Denying Authorization for Upper Midwest Golden Gloves Championships <br /> to be Held at the Bel-Rae Ballroom on Thursday, March 31, 1994 and <br /> Friday, April 1, 199 . <br /> Miche Severson, eputy Clerk <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Consider Resolution No. 4535 Approving Upper Midwest Golden Gloves Championships to be Held at the Bel-Rae <br /> Ballroom on Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1, 1994 and Resolution No. 4536 Denying Authorization to <br /> Conduct Above Stated Event at the Bel-Rae Ballroom <br />
