Mounds View City Council September 22, 2008 <br />Regular Meeting Page 12 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Mayor Marty asked whether there has been a result for the salary and compensation survey. 2 <br />Clerk Administrator Ericson indicated that he would be meeting with Sharon and will pass along 3 <br />the update to the council as soon as possible. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Mayor Marty indicated that he would like to work on the contract with the Banquet Center 6 <br />Coordinator for next year. He then said that he would like to look at the contract with the 7 <br />YMCA as well. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Mueller indicated that scouting lost an important member of its community as 10 <br />Cheryl Evans passed away from cancer. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Council Member Mueller read a letter thanking officers for their assistance with a suicidal 13 <br />person. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Council Member Mueller indicated that Paul Rignell has provided three issues of the Sun Focus 16 <br />and he would like Council to see that in Columbia Heights/Fridley edition dated September 11, 17 <br />2008 there is a copy of the man who won a trophy in the car show. In the Blaine edition the 18 <br />winner from Blaine is shown, and the people’s choice award winner is in the Mounds View copy. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that it is his understanding that, at the very next meeting after 21 <br />a closed session, the Council is to report on its closed session. He then commented that it is past 22 <br />10:00 p.m. 23 <br /> 24 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Marty. To Extend the Meeting to Allow for Comment and 25 <br />Summary of the Closed Session. 26 <br /> 27 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 28 <br /> 29 <br />B. Reports of Staff 30 <br /> 31 <br />Clerk Administrator Ericson noted that prior to the EDA meeting an executive session was held 32 <br />to review the performance of the City Administrator. He then summarized that Council 33 <br />determined his performance to be satisfactory and also provided a few opportunities to grow and 34 <br />improve in his performance as the City Administrator. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that the review was satisfactory or better. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Clerk Administrator Ericson noted that the mini retreat is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Random 39 <br />Park, next Monday, September 29, 2008. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Mayor Marty noted that there was an article in the September 8, 2008 edition of the Star Tribune 42 <br />suggesting that cities and counties handle their business away from the camera. He then said 43 <br />that, though the meetings may go long, all business is conducted publicly before the cameras and 44 <br />is open to the public in the City of Mounds View. 45
