FINANCE DEPARTMENT
QUARTERLY REPORT
First Quarter 1994
• Worked with Springsted, Inc. and James O'Meara on the issuance of the Golf
Course Bonds. The proceeds were received in January.
• Purchased a new computer for Mary Tatarek. Interesting thing about it was
that we used the fax machine to solicit and receive bids. When ordering sent
Zeos a purchase order by fax.
• Worked on getting Budget Book to the Printer, Samantha revised the format of
the budget message to make it more readable and user friendly. Sharie Linke
got her creative juices flowing and redesigned the cover for us. I think you'll
like it,
• The Finance Department staff has prepared numerous schedules and work
sheets in preparation for the audit of the City's finandal records. The auditors
arrived to begin their field work on March 30, They should be here for about
two weeks,
• Samantha, Department Heads, and I have been working on the format for
program performance budgeting. We will have it ready for 1995 budget.
• Worked with Springsted, Inc. and James 0' Meara on a refunding bond issue,
Those are the kind finance people like to work on because we're saving
money as a consequence of their issuance.
• Samantha and I worked with Casserly & Molzahn on the finandal analysis of
our TiF districts. The excess increments being generated from those districts
will allow the City to undertake some great projects for the betterment of the
City.
