SUMMARY; At the March Work Session, representatives of the North Metro Mayors Association were present to discuss the benefits to Mounds View in becoming a member of the organization. Unfortunately, two Councilmembers were unable to make the meeting and did not have an opportunity to hear the presentation and ask questions. The representatives, Mr. Joseph Strauss and Ms. Sarah Nelson, have been invited to attend the May 2 , 1994 Work Session to share with the Council the information which was presented in March and give everyone an opportunity to ask questions. Another aspect of the presentation will be a discussion regarding possible participation in the Community Partners Program (the program is outlined in the attached memorandum from Cathy Bennett, Economic Development Coordinator) . This Legislative session, Representative Evans attempted to secure State funds for the cities of New Brighton and Mounds View to participate in the Partnership program. Although the bill was not successful, the services provided by the organization are considered by the four participating cities to be extremely valuable in their overall business retention programs and could be worthwhile. to Mounds View's new economic development interests.
