1995 PROGRAM/PERFORMANCE BUDGET <br /> DEPARTMENT Community Development PROGRAM Development Review FUNDING <br /> SOURCE General Fund <br /> Planning Fees <br /> PROGRAM. PURPOSE <br /> Utilize a development review process that implements the long range goals and policies of the Comprehensive <br /> Plan; Integrates the participation of all relevant City Departments; and, Facilitates prompt and responsive <br /> action with developers. <br /> Monitor and review development proposals to ensure compliance with applicable Zoning, Sign and Subdivision <br /> Ordinances, the Comprehensive Plan, and consistency with community procedures and policies. Meet on an <br /> as-needed basis with developers to review/resolve development issues. Prepare technical reports and graphics <br /> for presentation to the Planning Commission and City Council. Serve as an information resource on <br /> development related issues. In 1994, the number of planning and development applications remained <br /> consistent with 1993 levels. Coordination of the development review process continues to be provided by the <br /> Community Development Coordinator with input from various City departments. In support of this function, <br /> the Community Development Coordinator prepares background reports, graphics and legal documents for <br /> presentation at Planning Commission and City Council Meetings. <br /> In 1995, the Community Development Department will continue these activities and focus on further <br /> improving the already high quality of development review services being provided. Staff will continue to work <br /> with the Planning Commission and City Council to find ways of streamlining the development review process. <br /> 5 PROGRAM OBJECTIVES <br /> * Review building plans and projects to ensure compliance with applicable City Ordinances. <br /> * Coordinate dissemination of all development review information to appropriate Departments for review, <br /> comment and filing: <br /> * Provide computerization in the area of Development Review to increase the accuracy and availability of <br /> land use information. <br /> * Improve the development review process to include other Staff where appropriate. <br />
