Staff has spoken with local dealers <br /> in search of returned program cars similar to the two purchased previously, <br /> out has discovered that the city will benefit more by buying new cars from <br /> the state bid, rather than purchasing used. <br /> The purchase price of a 1994 Ford Taurus is $ 12 , 641, versus a used 1994 <br /> Caprice Classic with 18 , 000 miles for $ 13 , 000. Staff is recommending <br /> purchasing two new Taurus from Midway Ford. It is also suggested that these <br /> cars be epuipped with communication radios.
