REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section: 10
STAFF REPORT Report Number: _94-1191WS
 Report Date: 6-2-94
AGENDA SESSION DATE June 6, 1994 p
DISPOSITION
Item Description: Discussion Regarding GOlf Course Management and Operations Structure
Administrator's Review/Recommendation:
- No comments to supplement this report
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
SUMMARY;
Councilmember Trude asked that this item be placed on the June 6th Work
Session Agenda to present to the Council an update of the proposed
management and operational structure of the City's golf course. The request
represents an excellent opportunity to update the Council on the progress
of the course construction as well as the golf course superintendent's
plans for marketing of the course.
Mary Saarion and Kurt Johnson will be present at Monday night's meeting to
answer questions and provide an overall update of the construction
progress.
I have attached the most recent letter from MWCC that outlines the issues
and resolutions that were of concern to the City in regards to the Blaine
Interceptor project. The ground water tests which are referenced in the
letter were negative for silver and lead. Consequently, the work has
commenced on the site north of Highway 118 . It is anticipated that the
course construction will not be delayed. The course will be completed and
seeded by the end of August, as planned. The grand opening remains slated
for the weekend of July 4, 1995 .
Sam ntha Or. no, City Admi istrator
RECOMMENDATION•
