Forestry - The objective of the forestry program is to preserve <br /> and supplement the existing green canopy through reforestation <br /> and tree disease programs and provide additional support <br /> services relative to plants, shrubbery and shade trees for the <br /> enjoyment of city residents today and in the future. <br /> 6. Cable TV -The objective of Cable TV programming is to provide <br /> the residents of Mounds-View with programs on Cable TV <br /> Channel 16, Government Access, to enhance the residents' <br /> awareness of community activities and information. <br /> Recreation <br /> Golf Course - One specific recreation goal includes the construction <br /> and successful operation of a nine hole golf course and driving <br /> range. The golf course is expected to be an enterprise program <br /> which means that costs of the operation will be funded with revenues. <br /> A Golf Course Task Superintendent will be hired during the time of <br /> construction to assist in the overseeing the irrigation, turf <br /> establishment and grow-in stages. The Golf Course Superintendent <br /> will also begin to choose appropriate equipment and materials for the <br /> operation of a golf course and driving range. Additional seasonal golf <br /> course personnel will be added when the course opens. The initial <br /> cost of the Golf Course Superintendent will need to be absorbed by <br /> the City until such time that the golf course opens and revenues are <br /> collected. The estimated salary of the Golf Course Superintendent is <br /> $40,000 plus benefits. <br /> Regional Senior Citizen Center - A second recreation goal for the next <br /> year and perhaps beyond includes current and future service <br /> strategies for senior citizens relating to either joint sponsorship of a <br /> regional senior citizen center or continued programming using <br /> whatever facilities and resources that can be coordinated through the <br /> Department. Participation in the joint powers agreement for the <br /> construction of a regional senior citizen center and the annual <br /> 31 <br />
