Mounds View City Council Page Four <br /> Regular Meeting February 8, 19 <br /> Report of Mayor Linke: <br /> a. Mayor Linke announced that the Kick Off Celebration for the Summer <br /> Games will be held on Tuesday, February 23 , 1993 , at the <br /> National Sports Center. Mayor Linke will be attending the <br /> Kick Off Celebration. <br /> Report of Administrator: <br /> a. Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, reminded the cable audience that <br /> the City's Appreciation Night is Saturday, February 27, 1993 . Orduno <br /> directed questions about ticket availability to Sharie Linke or Jan <br /> Quick. <br /> b: Orduno also reported that the RFP's for the Golf Course Architect <br /> were sent out last week. There will be a meeting of the Golf Course <br /> Task Force on March 11 at 6:00 p.m. to review these RFP's. The Golf <br /> Course Task Force will interview the top three candidates in the <br /> Council Chambers at 6: 00 p.m. on March 18, 1993 . Orduno stated that <br /> these are public meetings and everyone is welcome to attend. <br /> Mayor Linke asked what the situation was regarding the hiring of a <br /> Police Officer. Samantha indicated that the questionnaire process is• <br /> underway at this time. <br /> Report of Staff: <br /> Tim Cruikshank, Assistant to the City Administrator, brought forth a staff <br /> report regarding the expenditure for the sales tax portion of the telephone <br /> system purchase. Cruikshank explained that at the December 28, 1992, <br /> Regular Meeting, the City Council awarded Executone of St. Paul the bid for <br /> installing a new telephone system in City Hall. Cruikshank further <br /> explained that the bid award for the equipment and labor was $18,522 but <br /> inadvertently the amount of sales tax was left off the bid. The amount of <br /> the sales tax is $927 .49. <br /> Cruikshank asked the City Council to authorize an expenditure of $927.49 for <br /> the sales tax portion on the purchase of a new telephone system to be <br /> transferred from the Contingency Fund (100-4500-910) into account #100-4190- <br /> 703 . <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Rickaby/Blanchard to Authorize an Expenditure of $927.49 for <br /> the Sales Tax Portion on the Purchase of a New Telephone System to be <br /> Transferred from the Contingency Fund (100-4500-910) into Account No. 100- <br /> 4190-703 <br /> Mayor Linke stated that the "state gets us again" . <br /> Councilmember Quick asked Mayor Linke to expound on the statement he had 0 <br /> made previously. <br />
