Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, reviewed Staff Report No. <br /> 93-500C, Approving the Selection of Firm to Conduct the Market <br /> Analysis for the Proposed 9 Hole Golf Course. Orduno stated that <br /> the City Council approved the funding last year to obtain additional <br /> concept drawings of the golf course and to contract with a marketing <br /> firm to conduct a market analysis of the proposed golf course. <br /> The City received four proposals which were all excellent. Orduno <br /> reported that one firm was very pricy, but all three received very <br /> good recommendations. Effective Golf Course Systems, an Edina based <br /> company, who has also completed a market analysis for Inver Grove <br /> Heights was selected. Bruce Anderson, Park and Recreation Director for <br /> Inver Grove Heights stated that the estimated figures of revenue and <br /> expenditures were very accurate. <br /> Orduno gave a rundown of activities evolving around the proposed <br /> municipal golf course. Orduno reported that in August of last year the <br /> City Council gave staff the charge of looking into the feasibility, <br /> obtain a concept plan and devise the best course of action to make the <br /> golf course a reality. A golf course that would be able to pay for <br /> itself. The Golf Course Task Force looked at three concept plans from <br /> three different architects. <br /> Last October the Task Force invited representatives from seven <br /> municipally-owned golf course managers and park and recreation <br />
