Agenda Section: 4.
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION
oNJ—
STAFF REPORT Report Number: 93-454WS
April 5, 1993 Report Date: 4-1-93
AGENDA SESSION DATE _
DISPOSITION
Item Description:
Request for No Parking on Clearview Ave.
between 9:00 p.m _and 2 :00 a.m.
Administrator's Review/Recommendation:
- No comments to supplement this report •
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
SUMMARY;
Attached is a petition for No Parking on Clearview Avenue (Iron-
dale Road to Edgewood Drive) between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and
2:00 a.m. The petition was circulated due to patrons of 'Robert's
Off 10' parking in the neighborhood. The police have verified
that there are upwards of a dozen vehicles parked on various
nights. Staff supports the request of the residents, but there
are reservations regarding the impact of the perking restric-
tions.
The concerns are that the vehicles displaced by the parking
restrictions will park on Ridge Lane, Irondale Road, or other
adjacent street. Some have parked in these areas in the past. One
possible strategy would simply be to respond to concerns from
each street in response to complaints. The other strategy would
be to contact all residents in the area to determine if the
parking restrictions should be enacted over the entire area
instead of just adding Clearview.
Staff is asking for direction from Council. If Council does wish
to proceed with the request from Clearview immediately, this
could be put on the April 12 Council Meeting Agenda.
,1 t •
Ric 'netor
City Engineer/Director of Public Works
RECOMMENDATION;
