Mounds View City Council Page Three <br /> ?cgular Meeting May 10, 1993 <br /> IIP <br /> RESIDENTS REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> There were no residents requests or comments pertaining to issues not on the <br /> agenda presented at this meeting. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, read the Consent Agenda. <br /> Mayor Linke asked if there were any items the Council desired removed from <br /> the Consent Agenda. There were no items removed. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Rickaby to adopt the Consent Agenda as <br /> presented. <br /> VOTE: . 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> COUNCIL BUSINESS: <br /> 411 Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, introduced Bob Thistle of <br /> Springsted Financial Services to review Resolution No. 4368 <br /> Awarding the Sale of the City's General Obligation Water Revenue <br /> Refunding Bonds, Series 1993A and Providing for Their Issuance. <br /> Mr. Thistle announced that seven bids had been received with the <br /> low bid being 5.53% and the highest bid being 5.59%. The current <br /> interest rate on the bonds is 6.77%. Mr. Thistle stated by taking <br /> the low bid the City would save $133 , 000 in interest on the remaining <br /> balance of the bonds. Mr. Thistle advised the City to award the bid <br /> to Dain, Bosworth for the sale of the general obligation water revenue <br /> bonds. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Blanchard to Adopt Resolution No. 4368 Awarding <br /> the Sale of the City's General Obligation Water Revenue Refunding <br /> Bonds, Series 1993A and Providing for Their Issuance <br /> VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> B. Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, presented a brief review of the <br /> Proposed Regional Senior Center. Orduno explained how the idea of a <br /> Regional Senior Center had begun and that Mounds View was approached by <br /> Fridley and New Brighton as was Spring Lake Park and all four cities <br /> began discussing the possibility of a regional senior center. Orduno <br /> further reviewed the charge of the Regional Senior Center Task Force <br /> 411 who put many hours into this project and attended many meetings <br /> regarding the Proposed Regional Senior Center.
