STAFF REPORT <br />PAGE TWO <br />OCTOBER 4, 1993 <br />• Mr. Murzyn owned the King of Clubs nightclub from 1967 to <br />1980. <br />• Mr. Murzyn owned Central Avenue Liquor from 1980 to 1992. <br />• Mr. Murzyn's son, Stanley Jr., will manage the Mounds View <br />site and other members of the family will also work there. <br />• The Minneapolis Police have no record of any complaints at <br />either establishment while owned by Murzyn. <br />• A criminal history check on Mr. Murzyn and his son, revealed <br />no records. <br />The Mounds View Police Department indicated that they found no <br />reason to deny a liquor license to Stanley J. Murzyn, Sr. <br />Variance (info provided by Paul Harrington, City Planner) <br />In anticipation of a business being located on this site, a <br />variance allowing a reduction in the required off-street parking <br />was granted in September of this year. The Council may want to <br />consider making the improvement and installation of the parking <br />area on this site a condition of the liquor license approval. In <br />speaking with the property owner, he has indicated that the <br />construction process is underway. <br />
