The Task Force is requesting that the City Council authorize a clean-up of the site on Saturday, October 9th. The Task Force will be responsible for recruiting volunteers to assist with the clean-up, but the funding for disposal of the debris will need to be an authorized City expenditure from the Golf Course Development Fund. It is extremely difficult to determine costs in relation to the clean-up activity. The junk and debris on the site appears to be concentrated in three areas, but in such quantities that will make disposition of the materials costly in terms of container and tipping fees. The clean-up of the site will consist of recycling the tires, appliances and scrap iron and removing the non-recyclable materials from the site. It is estimated that the total cost for clean-up of the site could be between $10,000 and $15,000. The City will utilize its own equipment (excluding the roll-off containers) and the two irk maintenaricw employees. RECOMMENDATION Motion to authorize a clean-up of the proposed golf course site for October 9, 1993 and an expenditure of$15,000 for costs associated with the clean-up to be funded from the Golf Course Development Fund, 698-4120-303. 41111
